Job Description

Architect – Advanced Health & Science Design

Glasgow

£40,000–£50,000

Hybrid

If you’re an Architect who thrives on purposeful design, technical complexity and environments where your decisions genuinely improve lives, this role will put your skills at the forefront of innovation.

You’ll join a practice shaping some of the UK’s most advanced healthcare and scientific facilities — places where architecture directly influences patient outcomes, research breakthroughs and the future of clinical environments.

This is not a typical architectural role. It’s a chance to design buildings that matter.

Why this opportunity stands out

Design that changes lives: You’ll work on high‑impact health and science projects — from specialist treatment centres to research laboratories — where thoughtful design supports healing, discovery and long‑term societal benefit.

A studio built around digital excellence: BIM is at the heart of their workflow. If you enjoy model‑led design, coordination and pushing digital tools to their limits, you’ll feel right at home.

A role that recognises your experience: With 5+ years in practice, you’ll step into a position that values your design judgement, technical capability and ability to contribute meaningfully across RIBA stages.

A collaborative, multidisciplinary environment: You’ll work closely with architects, clinicians, engineers and technical specialists who understand the importance of well‑designed, high‑performance environments — and who value your voice in shaping them.

A Glasgow base with national influence: Enjoy the support of a local studio while contributing to projects that shape the future of health and science across the UK.

What you’ll bring

No endless checklists — just the essentials that matter:

  • 5+ years’ experience as an Architect

  • Strong proficiency in ArchiCAD (or a willingness to transition quickly)

  • A passion for designing complex, high‑performance environments

  • Curiosity, rigour and a desire to work in a sector where detail truly matters

If that sounds like you, you’re already aligned with what this team values.

What you’ll gain

  • £40,000–£50,000 salary depending on experience

  • A portfolio of unique, technically demanding health & science projects

  • Ongoing professional development and support toward long‑term progression

  • A culture that values initiative, creativity and design excellence

  • The chance to build a specialist career in one of architecture’s most future‑focused sectors

Shape environments that shape the future

This is more than a job. It’s an opportunity to design spaces that support medical breakthroughs, elevate patient care and drive scientific progress.

If you’re ready to take your architectural career into the next generation of health and science design, this is your moment.
