Championing Rural, Conservation & Heritage Projects

Are you passionate about breathing new life into historic buildings, shaping rural landscapes, and working at the intersection of design and conservation? Confero Recruitment Group are looking for a talented and motivated Part II Architectural Assistant to join our award-winning client in Edinburgh.

This architects firm specialises in the thoughtful regeneration and conservation of Scotland’s historic environment, working on a diverse portfolio of heritage-led, rural and conservation-focused projects. From restoring castles and country estates to creating sensitive contemporary interventions in protected settings, we balance creativity with deep respect for context and tradition.

 

What you’ll do

  • Work alongside experienced architects on heritage, conservation, and rural development projects across Scotland and beyond.

  • Support the design process from concept through to delivery, producing drawings, models, and visualisations.

  • Contribute to conservation-led design strategies and collaborate with specialists across disciplines.

  • Engage directly with clients, communities, and consultants, developing strong communication and presentation skills.

 

What we’re looking for

  • A RIBA Part II qualification (or equivalent) with a strong design portfolio.

  • Genuine interest in conservation, rural regeneration, and heritage architecture.

  • Excellent digital and hand-drawing skills (Revit, AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite).

  • A collaborative mindset and enthusiasm to learn within a supportive team.

  • A right to work it the UK is essential.
