Job Description

Part II Architectural Assistant

Ayrshire | £26,000–£30,000

A respected Ayrshire‑based architectural practice is looking to appoint a Part II Architectural Assistant with 1–3 years of post‑Part II experience. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who wants hands‑on project exposure, close mentorship, and a clear pathway toward sitting their Part III.

The studio is known for its friendly culture, strong technical standards and a portfolio that spans residential, commercial, community and bespoke one‑off projects. If you’re looking for a supportive environment where you can grow quickly and take on meaningful responsibility, this role will suit you perfectly.

Why this role is a great next step

  • A practice that genuinely invests in developing Part II assistants toward Part III qualification

  • Direct exposure to clients, consultants and contractors — not just back‑office design work

  • A varied project pipeline offering experience across RIBA Stages 2–6

  • A collaborative team where your ideas are welcomed and your progression matters

  • A stable, long‑established practice with a strong local reputation

What you’ll be doing

  • Supporting the design and delivery of projects across residential, commercial and community sectors

  • Producing drawings, models and technical information using AutoCAD

  • Assisting with planning applications, building warrant packages and tender documentation

  • Coordinating with consultants, suppliers and local authorities

  • Attending site visits, surveys and project meetings

  • Contributing to design reviews and helping develop project concepts

What you’ll bring

  • Part II Architectural Assistant with 1–3 years of UK experience

  • Strong design skills and a portfolio that demonstrates clarity, creativity and technical awareness

  • Working knowledge of Autocad is essential

  • Understanding of UK building regulations and project processes

  • A proactive, organised and collaborative approach

  • Ambition to progress toward Part III in the near future

What’s on offer

  • £26,000–£32,000 depending on experience

  • Structured support toward Part III

  • A friendly, down‑to‑earth team with strong mentorship

  • Exposure to a wide range of project types and scales

  • Long‑term career development within a stable practice
